Obituary: Frances Wilson Jones

May 13, 1928 – September 23, 2015

A long time Truckee resident, Frances Jones, went to meet her Lord in Medford, Oregon. Her family was by her side. She was 87.

Fran was born and raised in Piedmont, California. Just before finishing high school, she met the love of her life, Robert Bob Jones. After attending Stephens College, they were married in 1949. Bob and Fran were happily married for 60 years until Bob’s passing in 2009.

The family moved to Truckee in 1977 from the Bay Area when Bob assumed ownership of Boice Realty, and soon became active members of the community. Sierra Bible Church, where Fran was a deacon, was very important to both of their lives. After 25 years in town, they moved down the hill to Reno, where Fran lived until 2013 when she moved to Medford, Oregon.
