Nov. 26, 1948 — Aug. 5, 2016

Jeff, a resident of the Reno-Lake Tahoe area, was born in San Francisco on November 26, 1948, and entered into eternal life August 5, 2016.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly, of 45 years; his children Mike (Jessica) and Annie Troy (Tim); his grandsons: Christopher, Jacob, and Nathaniel Troy, and Max Quinn.

Jeff was a Certified Public Accountant in both Nevada and California for over 45 years. He began his career in 1970 with Price Waterhouse, and then retired in 2015 from the firm he founded, Ashley Quinn, CPAs. He was an active member of many civic organizations in the region. In 1986, the Incline Village Chamber of Commerce named him “Citizen of the Year.”

Also in 1986, Jeff began writing a weekly business/opinion column in the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza originally called “Tax Tips.” In more recent years, it was published under the “Revenooer Rants” title.

His primary avocation was golf, holding memberships in the Montreux Country Club and the Incline Village Golf Club. He also enjoyed following the 49ers, Dixieland jazz, and playing the banjo.

Recitation of the Rosary and a Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright Street, Reno NV, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00 am. A reception will immediately follow at the church. The family requests donations to The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Post Office Box 1776, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
