Obituary: Loren Shambaugh

July 1964 – July 2015

Loren Shambaugh, age 50, long time resident of the North Lake Tahoe area, originally from Wasco, CA, will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He grew up in Wasco, and following high school graduation attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ, where he completed his mechanics training. He was a skilled mechanic and worked throughout the years on everything from heavy duty equipment to cars and trucks. Loren especially enjoyed fishing with his buddies, walking the dogs, watching NASCAR and NFL football, collecting ball caps, and sharing his BBQ and culinary talents.

Loren is survived by his mother, Loretta Shambaugh; his brother, Shawn (Teresa), their children Lindsey (Tom) Besio, Joshua, Meagan, and Annie; and his sister, Hollie (Kent) Stanley, and their children Zachariah and Mikayla; and former wife Sandra Perales Shambaugh. Among those he considered family are Bob Brown and Michael Davis. He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Shambaugh.

An informal gathering to celebrate Loren’s life is being planned for Tahoe City in July, with another being planned for Wasco in August.
