Obituary: Marie Kathrina Reichlin

Marie Kathrina Reichlin passed away peacefully at her home at 22204 Juniper Street in Floriston, CA, 96111 on October 10th, 2013. She was at home for 5 weeks after a brief hospital stay.

Marie was born April 10, 1926, the oldest daughter of Andreas and Marie Kuttel-Ribary, of Hörnligarten, Küssnacht am Rigi, Switzerland.

She was one of nine children and raised at a dairy farm.

Marie followed her sweetheart Joe to America on May 5th, 1949 via Ellis Island and a long train ride to Seattle. They were married in Fife, Washington on October 8th, 1949. Their three children were all born near Modesto, Ca. The family moved to the Sierras in 1954 and she has lived in Floriston since 1955.

She is proceeded in death by her beloved Joe in 1992, her daughter Maryanne in 2010 and her son-in-law Bob Wilson in 2008.

She is survived by her son Joe Reichlin of Reno, daughter Ida Wilson of Idaho; grandsons Joe Jr. Reichlin (Kathy), of Reno, Brandon Wilson (Shanee) of Portland and Erik Wilson of Portland; two brothers: Sepp Kuttel of Switzerland and Louis Kettle of Truckee; three sisters : Louise Schuler of Escalon Ca, Kathy Croy of Nevada City, Ca and Selina Studer of Truckee.

Funeral service will be held at the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at 10930 Alder Drive in Truckee at noon on Saturday, October 19th, 2013. Reception immediately to follow at the church hall.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Church, the Sierra Swiss Club or charity of your choice.
