“Matt”, or “Witz” as he was affectionately called, was born and raised in the North Tahoe area. From an early age, he developed a love for outdoor activities, becoming an avid skier and skateboarder. Known for his resilient spirit, Matt loved ripping down the mountains in the winter. He was also a talented athlete, playing varsity football and baseball at North Tahoe High School.
Beyond his adventurous nature, Matt was deeply defined by his kindness and compassion for family and friends. His love for music was a constant throughout his life. Whether composing, performing, or simply enjoying music, it was a source of great joy for him.
Matt will be missed dearly by his loving mother, Carolyn Pratt, and many friends who were fortunate to know him. He brought warmth, laughter, and an unshakeable spirit to all who crossed his path.
As we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that a new star is twinkling in the sky, shining as brightly as Matt did in our lives. May he rest in peace.
