Obituary: Robert (Bob) Vaum

Robert (Bob) Vaum passed away peacefully August 15th, 2023. Born in November 1927, Bob passed at the age of 95. After serving as a Seabee in WWll, Bob worked as a carpenter and custom cabinet maker for nearly 40 years on custom homes and commercial projects, first in Napa Valley, and then Lake Tahoe homes and casinos. After raising three children in Napa, California, he, and his wife Jeannie moved to Sierraville, California where they enjoyed a life together supporting local schools, attending football games, participating in the Roping Club, with Bob also belonging to the Sierraville volunteer fire department. Bob always said his hobby and favorite thing to do was, working with his hands. They also attended the Cowboy Church for many years and established many close friendships in the Valley. Bob’s passing is preceded by his loving wife, Jeannie. They were married for 60 years. He is survived by his son, Bob Jr. (wife Donna), and daughters Verla, (partner Darrel), Debbie (husband Mel), two grandchildren Kelly, (husband Johnson) and Tyler (partner Nadia) and two great grandchildren, Marlowe, and Perry. A Celebration of Life may be announced in the future.
