Obituary: Samuel Lee Chesney
Samuel Lee Chesney, 68, passed away on April 1st 2016 at his home in Calpine, California. He was born to Harold and Vera Chesney in Noblesville, Indiana on January 10, 1948. He enlisted in the Navy shortly after graduating high school. Sam served during the Vietnam War on the USS Ranger and worked for Viking Electric of Tahoe Vista, California for 20 years before retiring. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved to go camping.
Sam was preceded in death by his father Harold Chesney and brother’s Larry and Bill Chesney. Sam is survived by his wife JoAnn Chesney, children Shannon and Alan Rose, Matt and Kim Morris, and Chad and Shila Morris. Also surviving are mother Vera Chesney, Aunt Jean Chesney and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the Calpine community building in Calpine, California on April 24th 2016 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Gene Upshaw Cancer Center in Truckee, California.
