Obituary: Shirley M. Rosamond

Shirley M. Rosamond, a long-time resident of the Truckee area, died peacefully Sunday the 15th of March at Crystal Ridge Care Center.
Born in 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Rufus and Kathleen Beasley. During World War II Shirley moved to California and became a Rosie The Riveter. After the war she met the love of her life, William Rosamond.
They were married in Reno, Nevada and later moved to Truckee, California to work at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics.
During Shirley's time in Truckee she founded the High Sierra Senior Citizen's Center. She devoted lots of love and hard work in making sure the seniors of the Truckee area were taken care of. Shirley loved her family and enjoyed helping her community.
She is survived by her children, Bill Rosamond Jr, Shelia Holley, Debby Biddinger, Darrel Rosamond, Howard Rosamond, and Chris Rosamond, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her husband William and daughters Sharron and Dianne.

The Truckee Tahoe Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. The Service will be held on March 20, 2015 in the Mortuary Chapel at 11:00am, with a gathering prior to the ceremony beginning at 10:00am.
