Obituary: Stephen John Hetzel

Stephen John Hetzel, age 53 of Grand Haven passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at home. He was born December 26, 1961, in Arlington Heights, IL to Robert John and June (Weber) Hetzel.

Steve was a resident of Tahoe City and Tahoma for about 20 years. He was owner/operator of Hetzel Distributing in Truckee. Steve loved music, cooking, Detroit Tigers baseball, Michigan State athletics, and gardening, especially tomatoes.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Emily June Hetzel of San Jose, CA; his mother, June Hetzel of Deland, FL; former wife, Sandy Hetzel of Tahoma, CA; five sisters: Barbara Allen of Suwannee, GA, Mary (John) Silady of Suwanee, GA, Margaret Minneman of Arlington, VA, Susan Nyquist of Grand Haven, Theresa Hetzel of Boston, MA; two brothers, Robert (Doris) Hetzel of Allen Park and Joseph (Maria) Hetzel of Atlanta, GA; fourteen nieces and nephews; and thirteen great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert John Hetzel on August 8, 2003; and his brother-in-law, William Minneman.
