Oscar Deen

Oscar Deen passed away January 6,2019 in Carson City, Nevada.

He was the kind of man who every girl and boy want their father to be. He worked hard and loved his wife of 73 years so much that he outlived her so she wouldn’t be alone. He had strong hands and a strong faith in God and made a point of taking care of others, not just his family Sharon, Janet, Diana, Elaine, and Bob but his grandchildren and their children and the whole community of young men that he taught in the glass trade.

Dad served in WWII with the 395th Squadron, 303rd Bomb Group of the Army Air Corps as a radio operator flying 31 missions. He was in the lead plane the last 14 of those missions, and the last surviving member of the crew. When he got home from the war, he married Shirley and started his long career as a glazier eventually owning and managing Glass & Sash, Inc. in San Rafael and Truckee Donner Glass in Truckee.

He truly knew the meaning of serving others. If someone needed a hand, he always offered one. He showed all of us by example that there was nothing greater than the love one shares with his family, his friends, and those that need a friend.
