Obituary: Barbara Mezger

Barbara Mezger, 80, former resident of Truckee, Calif., and Woodland, Calif., died peacefully on May 31, 2011, in Sparks, Nev.

Mrs. Mezger was born on June 18, 1930, in Woodland, Calif., and graduated from Woodland High School. She devoted much of her time and energy in raising her 6 children. She was employed at the Wagon Train Restaurant in Truckee for many years before retiring in 1995.

In retirement she and her husband traveled throughout the United States and Canada in their RV, before settling in Sparks, Nev.



She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Mezger, of Reno, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law, Benay and Mike McGarr, of Portola, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Chris Mezger, of Sparks, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Ronald Zwolinski Jr., of Highland, Calif.; son, Elliot Mezger, and Paige Gerrard of Truckee, Calif.; son, Paul Mezger, and Merav Alterman of Truckee, Calif.; and son, Patrick Mezger, of Galt, Calif.

She has 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.



Barbara Mezger was preceded in death by her son, Joseph M. Mezger.

Services will be held at Excel Christian School, 2285 Oddie Blvd., in Sparks, Nev., on Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m.
