Obituary: Betty Walsh, 1928 – 2012

Betty Walsh was born August 6, 1928, in Vancouver, Canada.

Betty moved to Squaw Valley in 1958 and worked during the 1960 Olympics. She lived in the Valley for fifty-three years and loved being a part of the Squaw Valley community. Betty was known as a fun loving personality and a friend to many.

Betty raised five children; two of her children, Lynn Jahanian and Billy Dutton, preceded her in death. Betty is survived by three children: Debbie Dutton, Brad Dutton and John Walsh; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Betty’s passing took place peacefully on January 10th, 2012, with family and friends by her side. She loved swimming in the lakes and spending time with her grandchildren.

A celebration of Betty’s life will take place 4 p.m., Sunday, January 22nd at the Olympic Village Lodge, 1901 Chamonix Place in Squaw Valley, California, 96146.
