OBITUARY: Bitler, Gorden Cole

The family and friends of Gorden Cole Bitler would like to invite readers to a celebration of his life on June 14 at 10 a.m. at the North Tahoe Community Conference Center in Kings Beach.

Gorden was a longtime resident of the North Shore and among the many notable achievements in his life, he survived the sinking of the USS Lexington in WWII, and, as a boy, was proud to have climbed and dove off the smokestack of the Steamer Tahoe.

To those unable to make this time, the celebration will continue in the afternoon at Ferrari’s Crown Motel in Kings Beach, which stands as a monument to the great craftsmanship of Gorden. All of Gorden’s many friends are cordially invited to attend.
