Byington J. Campbell passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack. His last day, including a wonderful dinner with his wife, was spent in the company of family and friends doing what he loved.Born at Peralta Hospital in Oakland to Arch and Nathalie Campbell, andamp;#8220;Byandamp;#8221; was a warm, friendly, generous man who treasured every moment among family and friends throughout his life. Graduate of Alamo Elementary, San Ramon High School, earned a degree in Agronomy from U.C. Davis where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. By formerly co-owned Campbell Brothers Printing Co., in Emeryville, Calif., and was a member of the Oakland Exchange Club, Emeryville Industries, Oakland Athletic Club, Round Hill Country Club, Elks Lodge #1199 andamp; 2504. His involvement with the family rice farm in Colusa, Calif., and commercial property in Reno will be missed. By and Sue were avid RVers with the WBCCI Airstream Caravan Club covering many miles throughout the lower 48, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, eastern and western Europe, England, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand, and Australia. By and his family have considered Donner Lake, Tahoe and Truckee home away from home since the 1950s.By is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue Lundahl Campbell, and three married children: Brian Joseph and Sally of San Luis Obispo, Eric Francis and Kim of Loomis, Anne Seelenfreund and Eric of Truckee along with seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother and best friend John andamp;#8220;Jackandamp;#8221; Francis and Sheila of Alamo, nephews Christopher Byington andamp; Dea of Alamo, Scott Erik of San Francisco and John andamp;#8220;Jayandamp;#8221; Francis Jr. of Alamo. A memorial mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Danville, Friday, Oct 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Donations in Byandamp;#8217;s memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
