Obituary: Charles "Chuck" Olano

Charles “Chuck” Olano, born Dec. 10, 1927, in Fallon, Nev., died Feb. 22, 2010, in Fallon. He was 82.

After high school, Chuck joined the US Army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne at the latter part of World War II. After returning, he married Yolanda Giovannoni on March 29, 1949, in Reno, Nev. They later lived in Truckee for 55 years. He worked as a mechanic for Thornton’s Garage, and later was self employed as a welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his granddaughter, Amber. He retired in 2004 to Fernley, Nev. He was preceded in death by parents Cosme and Tomasa; a brother, Manuel; and sister, Rosie Weddle.

A private ceremony was held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nevada chapter of the ASPCA.
