Obituary: Dorothy Edwards, 79, passes

Dorothy Edwards, 79, passed away on June 18, 2009, after a three month fight with brain cancer. She lived in Tahoe City, with her family, from 1960 to 1976.

The Edwards family then spent 30 years as residents of Penn Valley, CA, and lived in Tulare, Calif., for the past three years.

She moved to Tulare with her husband to be closer to their children, who migrated south after graduating from college.

Dorothy spent most of her life raising her two boys and providing a loving home for her family.

She loved cooking, canning, and most of all, sewing. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchild, Sarah. She felt truly blessed to be able to spend the last 2 years watching Sarah grow into a toddler.

Dorothy is survived by: her loving husband of 46 years, Dave Edwards; son, Brock Edwards, his wife Mary Sandahl and their granddaughter, Sarah Edwards, all of Tulare; son, Clint Edwards of San Luis Obispo; brother, Robert Sullivan of Lighthouse Point, Fla.; step-children Barbara Edwards of Santa Barbara; Sheree Deragon, her husband Pete Deragon, step grandchildren Brooke and Heather Deragon, all of San Luis Obispo.

Dorothy lived a good full life, loved the Lord, and will be truly missed.

A private burial will be reserved for family members. There will be a memorial service in Tahoe City, Calif., on Aug. 1.
