Obituary: Joyce Bennett

Nov. 12, 1929 – Jan. 27, 2012

Joyce Bennett, loving mother and wife, passed away last Friday at her home in Truckee, California. She was born in Gary, Indiana and grew up in Valparaiso.

She graduated from Arizona State University, where she met her husband Don. They moved to Ventura, CA, where she was a Social Worker for 20 years.

In 1991 she retired with Don to Truckee. She loved working in her garden raising daisy flowers.

Joyce was a beloved member of the Church of the Mountains, the Sierra Tinker Belles Garden Club and the XE Chapter of PEO. She participated in many other local activities.

She is survived by her family husband Don, son Scott and daughter-in-law Tatjana.

She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.

A brief memorial service will be held at the Church of the Mountains in Truckee on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
