Obituary: June Agne Marte

After having lived full and good life Mary June Marte died on Nov. 7, 2011, at the age of 92. She married Glen Marte in 1938, transported to the ceremony in a horse and buggy, not the first of many marks she made as she charged through life.They moved to Nichols Point on Oneida Lake, New York to raise their family. June and Glen were founding members of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Bridgeport and June was active in the Altar Society. During and following WW II she was known for her dance productions and recitals. In 1985 June and Glen left Bridgeport splitting their time between North Syracuse area and their camp, Turtle Pond. June was happiest when at camp where she expressed her love of wild flowers, birds and small creatures.She is predeceased by her husband, Glen, twin sons Jerald and James, brother James Agne, and sister Henrietta Pindle. To carry on her memory she leaves behind her children Tamara and Glen Timothy, their spouses Stephen Lieberman and Joanne Pompo Marte, grandchildren Nicole, Eric (Gail) and Josh (Shelly) Lieberman, G. Timothy Marte, and Mary Marte (Mark) Lukeciewicz, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for the many fun times she organized, her wonderful sense of humor and her great love of children.
