Obituary: Lloyd Everett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Lloyd Everett, a long-time Truckee resident. Lloyd Everett died the evening of June 3, 2012, in Reno, Nevada. Mr. Everett was a well-loved gentleman, a devoted husband to Virginia his wife, who preceded him in death.

Born in Northern Idaho in 1919, Lloyd joined the Idaho National Guard and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he moved to Truckee, California, in the early 1950and#8217;s and started a fuel delivery service, delivering heating oil to much of Truckee and surrounding communities until the early 1990and#8217;s.

During this time Mr. Everett served his community by being a member of the Truckee Fire Protection District Board as a Director for over 30 years.

Per his wishes, there will be no services and Lloyd will be laid to rest next to his wife Virginia in Nevada City.
