Obituary: Marilyn Garvin

Marilyn Garvin, 67 of Truckee, Calif., passed away on Feb. 4, 2009 after a short, but hard battle with pancreatic cancer. Just because she was ill she never gave up. She tried to maintain a normal life.

She was a devoted, hard working employee with Boomtown for more than 30 years. Marilyn recently retired do to her illness.

She will be missed more than words can say. She was a loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We were blessed to have her touch our lives.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Marlin Garvin, son Carl, daughter Debbie, son-in-law Art, her brothers Earl and Bruce, sisters Elaine, Phyllis and Carolyn. She is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie, father Carl and sister June.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services at Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary and Crematory, 10126 Church St., Truckee, Calif. on Feb. 21, 2009 at 11 a.m.
