Obituary: Mark S. Stearns

Mark S. Stearns, 53, of Truckee, Calif., passed away on Feb. 2, 2010. Mark was born on Dec. 12, 1956, in Fort Rucker, Ala. He grew up in Ladysmith, Wisc., and was a graduate of The University of Wisconsin-Stevenand#8217;s Point.

Upon graduation Mark worked for Norco Windows where he was plant manager in Redding, Calif. In 1991, Mark opened the Truckee Dairy Queen, which he owned and operated for the last 18 years.

He was knowledgeable in world affairs and loved to have lively conversations.

He was active in the Truckee community and prided himself in supporting local businesses.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Julie Stearns, of Truckee, Calif.; father Bill Stearns, of Ladysmith, Wisc.; and siblings Chip Stearns, of Missoula, Mont., Sally Gallenberger, of Eden Prairie, Minn. and David Stearns, of Algonquin, Ill.

He will be loved forever and will be sorely missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, 11 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi, 701 Mount Rose Highway, Incline Village, NV 89451.
