Obituary: Max John Krieg and#8212; Sept. 18, 2005 – Dec. 2, 2010
A new light is shining in the night sky as 5-year-old Max John Krieg of Truckee, Calif., passed away Dec. 2, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.
Born in Vail, Colo., on Sept. 18, 2005, Max was a selfless loving child who loved smiling, laughing, playing, reading, yoga, swimming, skiing and family adventures. He is survived by his father Kurt, mother Martha, and older sister Hannah (and best friend).
Max was a California transplant childrenand#8217;s organ donor and has already aided other children through this program.
A memorial service for Max is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Glenshire Elementary School in Truckee. The school is located at 10990 Dorchester Drive.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Max Krieg Memorial Fund through the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation. Checks should be made out to the Foundation, with a note on the memo line designating the money for the Max Krieg Memorial Fund.
The fund will be available to Glenshire Elementary School, with the teachers who had the honor of teaching Max deciding how the money will be utilized. Checks may be mailed to the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation at P.O. Box 366, Truckee, CA. 96160.
While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.
