Obituary: Ochs Scanlon, Jean A.

Jean A. Ochs Scanlon was born in Reno on Oct. 30,1918 and passed away April 29, 2003 in Sacramento at the age of 80. Jean is predeceased by her loving husband William Scanlon. She was the daughter of the late Florence and Albert Ochs. Brother Pete Ochs and Sister Dawn Murray preceded her in death. Jean is survived by her son Dana Scanlon of Goldriver, Calif.; stepson William Scanlon of Jackson, Calif.; nieces Andria Motta of Chico, Karen Wadsack of Redding, Salley Kivi of Stites, Idaho, and nephews Jeff Murray of Chico, and Gary Ochs of Redlands Calif.

Jean attended school in Oakland and was employed at the 1939-1940 World’s Fair at Treasure Island. She married

William Scanlon of Susanville shortly after World War 2, and resided in Truckee for many years. They relocated to Sacramento in the early 1970s.



Visitation will be held at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks on today from 4-8 p.m. Services will also be at Mt. Vernon on June 5 starting at 12 p.m.
