OBITUARY: Ouchida, Misako "Missy"

Missy Ouchida passed away at her home in Truckee on May 13, following a short illness.

Missy was born in Santa Anita, Calif. on March 24, 1942. She moved to Truckee from San Jose in 1980. Missy worked for the Truckee River Bank when it was first established in Truckee as one of the original employees. She then moved to the administrative offices at the airport.

Missy’s hobbies were skiing, and fishing, and her greatest love was training and showing her championship Alaskan malamute dogs, where she won many national titles and ribbons.



She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kio Ouchida, of Truckee, and her son Rick Ouchida, also of Truckee; her brothers Kiyochi Kawasaki of Hollister, Calif. and Sam Kawasaki of Watsonville, Calif.; her sisters, Yoshiko Kawasaki of Watsonville, and Emi Yamamura of Roseville. Memorial services were held May 21 at Watsonville Buddhist Temple, 423 Bridge St., Watsonville, CA.; Inurnment followed at the Paharo Valley Memorial Park, in Watsonville. Arrangements were handled by the Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary.
