OBITUARY: Owens, Olga Laura

Olga Laura Owens, 90, died March 25 in Mills-Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, Calif.

Miss Owens was born in Truckee June 4, 1912 to Herman and Marie Owens. She and her only sibling, Herman (Bud) Owens, were raised in Truckee and attended local schools here. Miss Owens furthered her education at Berkeley and San Francisco State, graduating with a degree in education. Her early teaching was in a one-room country school in Columbia, Calif. Miss Owens was the second grade teacher at Chadbourne School in Millbrae, Calif., and was loved and respected by co-workers, students and parents.

Olga was active in the Catholic Organization YLI, San Mateo County Retired Teachers and San Bruno, Millbrae and South San Francisco AARP. A rosary will me held on Sunday, March 30 at 5 p.m. at the Chapel of the Highlands, in Millbrae and a mass will be said on Mon. March 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Dunstans Catholic Church in Millbrae. Interment is in Holy Cross Church in Colma, Calif.
