Obituary: Rex Powell Jr.

Rex Powell Jr. of Truckee Calif., passed away Sunday Nov. 4, 2012 at his home, with his wife Sandra Powell who were married for 55 yrs.

He is survived by his children Dana Powell and fiance Margi McIntyre of Reno, Nev., Debra Erickson of Fallon, Nev., and Amy Lawlor of Reno. His sister Pasty Jeffrey of Loomis, Calif., brothers Frank and John Powell of Washington. He has seven grandchildren and eight great grand children. He was a carpenter for 40 years. He retired in 1991 to hunt, fish, travel and carve canes and walking sticks from Aspen Trees from around the Truckee area. He loved his children, grand children and great grand children. He taught them to hunt, fish and to enjoy the outdoors. He loved to travel to Wyoming, Montana and Utah to hunt Elk and deer. Every year he took his grand children with him. He loved life and left many memories for his family. He will be dearly missed and always loved. Any donations please make to Hospice of Truckee.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Nov. 17 at noon at Sierra Bible Church 11460 Brockway Rd., Truckee, CA.
