Bob Clark

Robert Allen (Bob) Clark, 78, was born Aug. 2, 1931. A long-time resident of Kings Beach, he passed on Nov. 28, 2009, at the age of 78, in Laguna Hills, Calif.

Bob served in both the Army and Navy during the Korean War.

Bob moved to Tahoe City from the San Fernando Valley in 1958. He opened and operated a wholesale doughnut business from 1959 to 1966 and was proud to supply his doughnuts to the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley. In 1966, he went to work for Sierra Pacific Power Co., where he retired after 30 years in 1996.

Bob served more than 10 years as a volunteer firefighter in King Beach, five of those years as captain. He was elected and served as Fire Commissioner for the North Tahoe Fire Protection District from 1977 through 1989.

Bob was heavily involved in the Kings Beach scouting program from 1968 through 1978. He initiated and was scoutmaster of the newly formed Kings Beach troop 588 from 1972 through 1976. Bob was also a 14-year charter member of the Kings Beach Elks Lodge.

After 45 years of mountain living, Bob and his wife, Diane, retired to Laguna Hills, Calif. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane; sons Steve and Greg; and six grandchildren.
