Obituary: Robert F. Orth

Robert F. Orth died June 27, 2011, in Victorville, Calif., from complications of Parkinsonand#8217;s Disease. He was 81.

Bob was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Hackensack, N.J. After 35 years as an electrician in the L.A. area, he built his dream home and retired to and#8220;Godand#8217;s Countryand#8221; in Tahoe Donner. Only failing health caused him to move off the mountain and down to Victorville.

Bob loved all the years he spent in Truckee, from skiing at local resorts to helping out as a trainer for the Truckee High football team and golfing with his many friends (and#8220;The Dawn Patroland#8221;).

He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye, and a quick sense of humor that kept everyone around him laughing.

Nothing was more important to him than his family, and he will be greatly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Victorville, Calif. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, July 2, at the family home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elks National Foundation.
