Obituary: Sistrunk, Arthur C.

Arthur C. Sistrunk, 86, passed peacefully into God’s hands on July 28.

Arthur is survived by Lillian, his beloved wife of 66 years and daughters Mary Ann Fitze of Long Beach and daughter Barbara Hunt of Reno.

He has five grandchildren: Phillip Fitze of Long Beach, James Hunt of Sparks, Douglas Hunt of Stevenson Ranch, Calif., Dr. Cathleen Hunt of Lubbock, Texas and Julie Hunt of Tacoma, Wash. He has three great-grandchildren: Bryon Hunt, and Lauren and Thomas Hunt.

After retirement from the postal service, Arthur enjoyed traveling with his wife and always seemed to have a grandchild or two along with them. He had been active as a Fourth-degree Knights of Columbus. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Marine Corps. All who knew him were touched by his loving kindness and love of God.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Aug. 4 at Assumption Catholic Church in Truckee.
