Obituary: Steven A. Casella

September 14, 1953 and#8211; March 29, 2012

Steve was born in Newton Massachusetts and grew up on Cape Cod. After High School he joined the U.S Marine Corps and served his country. He then lived in Bridgton, Maine and eventually moved to Lake Tahoe, CA where he lived for 30 years. He worked at Crystal Bay Club and CalNeva Lodge until he became a Firefighter Paramedic with the North Tahoe Fire Protection District in 1989. He had a black belt in Aikido. He retired from the Fire Department in December 2010.

He became ill in February 2011 and battled a long illness. He moved near Seattle with family to continue medical rehabilitation. He returned to his home in Carnelian Bay CA. in January 2012. He died peacefully at home where he was found March 29, 2012.



Steve was brave and strong. He was loved and will be missed. He is predeceased by his father Anthony J. Casella and is survived by his mother Genevieve Casella, sisters and brothers Maria Casella, Rob Casella, Rick Casella, Lynda Sandschulte, Diane Casella, half brothers AJ Casella, Nick Casella, and eight nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Kings Beach, CA on Friday, August 3, at 3pm. Reception will follow.
