Obituary: Stillings, Shirley Roseland

Shirley Stillings passed away in her Truckee home on Feb. 15.

Shirley was born Aug. 28, 1919 in Springfield, Ill. to Raymond and Clara Stillings. She is survived by her only sister, Marilyn Scamell of San Diego and numerous longtime friends.

Shirley lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she graduated from Withrow High School, and went on to the Chicago College of Osteopathy where she received her degree in Osteopathy. She practiced in her own private practice in the Glendale-Pasadena area for 30 years.

During this time, she also was a director for the Methodist Clinic in Los Angeles.

“Dr. Shirley,” as she was fondly called by her many, many friends, moved to Serene Lakes 20 years ago, upon her retirement. She recently moved to her Truckee home, two years ago.

Dr. Shirley was a longtime member of the Sierra Bible Church.

Her memorial service was held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at the Sierra Bible Church.

Private cremation was held, with arrangements by Truckee-Tahoe Mortuary. Memorial Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Sierra Bible Church, 11460 Brockway Rd., Truckee, CA 96161
