Funeral services for Corte Madera and Truckee resident William (“Bill”) Humphreys will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Fernwood Funeral Home, 301 Tennessee Valley Road, Mill Valley, CA 94941. Mr. Humphreys died Thursday at age 75 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in 1933 in San Francisco to Roy and Vera Humphreys. He attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Calif. After completing his service in the U.S. Army, he continued his studies at San Francisco State College, earning degrees in education and administration.

Mr. Humphreys retired after a career with the San Francisco School District. An avid skier, he was a long time passholder at Alpine Meadows and a volunteer for many years at the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughter Jonna Peguero, sons Eric Humphreys of San Bruno, Randy Humphreys of Truckee, and Dana Humphreys of Peteluma, Calif., sister Nickie Marshall, brother Joe, and grandchildren Heather, Joseph, and Abigail Peguero and Helen, John, Sarah, and Katie Humphreys.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
