A Night in Bethlehem | A living Christmas event

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Step back in time Dec. 8 and 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Sierra Bible Church, 11460 Brockway Road, Truckee and experience the night Jesus was born.
Sierra Bible Church offers an opportunity to interact with the town of Bethlehem on this historic evening. and#8220;A Night in Bethlehemand#8221; has 50-plus volunteers who will lend their gifts of art, design, carpentry, photography, dramatic arts, leadership and organizational skills to reproduce an interactive town of Bethlehem. The shop owners will be busy making pottery, baking bread, crushing spices and weaving. There will be donkeys, goats, Mary and Joseph and angels.
and#8220;Three times during the evening, there will be a trumpet fanfare, the lights will shine on the angels, the shepherds will come in, and the wise men, too,and#8221; said Sierra Bible Church Pastor Wayne Hoag. and#8220;The angels will even do a little dance.and#8221;
The Bible says that night the sky was dark and the stars were shining bright, there were and#8220;Shepherds who were keeping watch over their sheep when suddenly an Angel stood before them. The Angel told them not to be afraid and then said to them and#8216;I bring you tidings of great joy, which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David (Bethlehem) a Savior who is Christ the Lordand#8217; … and then suddenly, there was with the Angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God.and#8221; The Angel said, and#8220;which will be to all people.and#8221; It is a statement of hope. That is what and#8220;A Night In Bethlehemand#8221; is all about.
Community members will stream through all evening, enjoying the foods of ancient times, like dates and nuts, baklava, various concoctions, and breads and#8212; lots of breads.
As families and friends depart, they may take part in a photo booth and dress in period costumes receiving a complementary photo.

The community is invited to the event, where the bustling town of Bethlehem will once again come alive.
