Breeze Rentals opens in Tahoe City
December 6, 2012
TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Designed to coincide with the launch of both the ski and snowboard season and the peak holiday shopping period, Specialty Sports Venture (SSV), the wholly owned retail division of Vail Resorts, Inc. is opened a new Breeze Rentals facility store in Tahoe City Saturday, Dec. 1.
The 5,800-square foot shop includes a full ski and snowboard rental facility with inventory that includes sport/beginner packages, equipment for juniors, performance packages ideal for intermediates, and the latest high-end demo equipment from top manufacturers like Rossignol, Burton, and Salomon. Known for providing affordable ski and snowboard rentals including their acclaimed $9.99 daily rental, the arrival of a Breeze outlet for the Tahoe area adds a comprehensive new rental location for skiers and riders.
“We believe that bringing a Breeze Rental shop to Lake Tahoe is long overdue and will be very popular with weekend visitors to the Tahoe region,” said regional manager Shawn Dolan. “This shop brings a strong mix of brands together that didn’t exist in Tahoe City before now and we think our customers will appreciate having that kind of selection in one place.”
In addition to the rental facility, Breeze will also have a retail shop on site that includes everything from jackets and outerwear as well as accessories like gloves, goggles, hats, and helmets from top names including Obermeyer, Oakley, Spyder, Burton, North Face, Prana, and Descente. The combination rental/retail center provides one-stop convenience for skiers and riders so they can pick up that one missing item from their outfit or to update a piece of their ensemble at the same time they are collecting their rental gear.
“We are pretty convinced that this Breeze Rental shop will be a hit almost as soon as it opens,” claims Kat Jobanputra, COO of SSV. “We do some pretty careful analysis of each market to see what kind of products and stores people in that region find most appealing and then we work with some of the top companies in outdoor clothing to bring the two together. That way, we are able to match the right stores to the right resorts and when we are successful in making that connection, we can keep our customers happy and coming back,” he adds.
In addition to the new Breeze Rentals, SSV is also expanding in their other primary regions with three new stores in the Vail and Beaver Creek villages and three new stores in the Westin hotel adjacent to the Snowmass Mall in Aspen, Colo. The six new stores opening this season brings SSV to 176 shops located at dozens of mountain resorts in Colorado, California, Utah, and Nevada.
