TNSAR is a nonprofit Search and Rescue Team that conducts fast and safe rescues and educates the public about winter safety. TNSAR is able to meet these goals by generous donations made by businesses and the public.

Cardiac Science, a leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology products and services, donated a automated external defibrillator ((AED) to the Team. Representatives from Cardiac Science presented the AED to Team members during the annual Winter Sports Injury Symposium (http://www.tfhd.com/news_detail.asp?ID=26) at the Resort at Squaw Creek, sponsored by Tahoe Forest Health System.

The AED will be carried on the Team search truck to be used during searches, trainingand#8217;s and public events including the Fourth Grade Winter Wilderness Education Program, SnowFest! Parade, Big Truck Day and The Great Ski Race, which is the teamand#8217;s main fundraiser.

TNSAR does not conduct phone solicitations and is looking forward to The Great Ski Race, a SnowFest! event to be held March 7, 2010.

Team members and community supporters organize the race, which continues to be one of the largest Nordic ski races west of the Mississippi. The 30 KM race begins at Tahoe X-Country and ends at Hilltop in Truckee. Race proceeds are used primarily to purchase equipment for the Team, and to support winter survival and avalanche education programs sponsored and conducted by the Team.
