Employment law essentials seminar scheduled for Sept. 14

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212;CalSHRM and Sierra Human Resources Association will be presenting and#8220;CA Employment Law Essentials for Businessand#8221; so that small business owners, office managers, department managers and supervisors, and human resource practitioners who want to gain essential knowledge in the unique and complex system of California employment laws will have the opportunity to do so locally. In partnership with Truckee Donner and North Lake Tahoe Chambers, this one-day eight-hour workshop will be held on Friday Sept. 1, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in Truckee.
On Jan. 1, Gov. Jerry Brown signed almost two dozen new human resources and employment-related bills into law. Attendees will receive in-depth knowledge on California specific employment laws in the areas of leaves of absence and workerand#8217;s compensation, employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits and health, safety and security. If you practice human resources in California, you often need to lead the way in initiating new regulations and changes to employment law.
The speaker is Mike Letizia, PHR-CA. Letizia is the president elect of California State Council of the Society for HR Management and brings more than 25 years of human resource, operations, training and leadership experience to his dynamic presentations.
