Everyday Objects and Found Art sculpture exhibit opening reception today

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Everyday Objects Juried Art Exhibit and Truckee Day Found Object Sculpture opening reception will be held Oct. 14, 5-7 p.m. at the Truckee Donner Recreation and Parks Districtandamp;#8217;s Community Recreation Center, 8924 Donner Pass Road.Celebrate the creativity of 17 regional artists, a vast array of more than 40 artworks, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture, ceramics, wood burning, drawings, fine woodworking and mixed media. This exhibit is presented by the Truckee Public Art Commission, in partnership with the Truckee Donner Recreation andamp; Parks District. Enjoy music by After Eights, appetizers, wine and refreshments. Art awards will include a Peopleandamp;#8217;s Choice.The opening reception will also include an unveiling of the Found Object Sculpture, made from metals collected this summer at Truckee Day. A silent auction will be held to purchase the sculpture, constructed by artists Troy Corliss, Chuck Grooms, Nikki Riley and the TPAC crew.
