and#8220;From the beginning our goal has been to invite participants to enter a world brimming with inspirational architecture, lavish interior design and creative landscaping,and#8221; explained Lil Schaller, Excellence in Education Board Member and Home Tour Chair. and#8220;We are pleased that Martis Camp so willingly agreed to partner with us this year and we know that this yearand#8217;s tour promises to showcase many truly unique ideas and concepts.and#8221;
Home tour guests will have the opportunity to explore several vastly different homes. Discover a 4,250 square foot home featuring alpine architectural forms and indigenous Tahoe materials on the exterior blended with clean lines and modern finishes on the interior, or take an architectural journey through the serpentine layout that highlights the subtle dance of balanced natural day lighting, with a rhythm of unique spaces offering special places to observe the thoughtfully framed views while respecting privacy in a home designed for large parties. Yet another home reflects a natural modern style that the owners envisioned as New York Loft meets Tahoe. This home utilizes a steel super structure that is expressed both inside and out, including moment frames at the great room and master bedroom that allow for full window walls. In addition, a linear ledge stone called Cisco Grove is used at the entry and extends off the house, wrapping around to the garage creating an outdoor room that is penetrated with a small gateway that opens up for the entry walk.
Proceeds from the Home Tour will benefit quality public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Money raised will go directly into the school district via the Excellence in Education Foundationand#8217;s grant and teacher training programs.
Tickets for the tour are $35 per person in advance, $40 at the door.
