TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The success of educational foundations in California is well-documented, with millions raised for public school districts throughout the state. Indeed, the need for private support of public education has never been greater as state education budgets suffer deeper cuts each year.Our region is no exception. Thanks to resounding community-wide support, the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation has been able to award $2 million in grants to teachers and programs in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District since its inception in 1986. These grants support meaningful academic experiences for the districtandamp;#8217;s 4,000 students.andamp;#8220;We believe great schools are everyoneandamp;#8217;s business,andamp;#8221; said Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation President Ann Delforge. andamp;#8220;Tahoe Truckee community members and business owners have always responded to our cause in a big way, now we just need to keep that positive momentum going.andamp;#8221;During this season of gratitude, the foundation is reaching out to the community with the Thanks For Giving campaign slated for Nov. 13-20.
