Former brain surgeon to exhibit sculpture at Carmel Gallery in Truckee

The Carmel Gallery is pleased to host a reception for sculptor Dr. Milton Heifetz on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Northstar part-time resident Dr. Milton Heifetz, an accomplished and retired brain surgeon, is a man of many talents. He is a former chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he practiced medicine for 40 years. He served as a visiting professor of neurosurgery and medical ethics at Harvard University Medical School, a visiting scholar of ethics at Oxford University, and an adjunct lecturer at Boston College Law School. Heifetz is an author of both a medical ethics book and two astronomy guidebooks. He has created two original planispheres, one of which is installed in the Harvard University Museum of Historical Scientific Instruments.
Heifetz has also been sculpting since 1945. His bronze and marble sculptures can be found in many private collections. The Carmel Gallery, located at 9940 Donner Pass Road in historic Downtown Truckee, is pleased to announce Heifetzand#8217;s smooth, flowing bronze and marble sculptures are currently on display in the galleryand#8217;s main downstairs exhibit space. Heifetzand#8217;s beautiful sculptures are inspired by forms of graceful birds.
