Gene Upshaw Memorial Golf Classic to benefit Tahoe Forest Health Systems programs and services

TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; The second annual Gene Upshaw Memorial Golf Classic will be hosted by The Golf Club at Grayand#8217;s Crossing on July 11 and 12, 2010. The public is invited to attend and participate in this charity event in honor of Gene Upshaw, who died of pancreatic cancer at Tahoe Forest Hospital in August 2008 at the age of 63.

The event features an impressive line up of NFL players such as NFL Hall of Fame members Marcus Allen, Fred Bilentikoff, Mike Haynes and Ronnie Lott.

Spaces are still available for golfers, sponsors and spectators. There will be a private pairings party at The Ritz-Carlton, Highlands Lake Tahoe on Sunday July 11 with food, music and live and silent auction. The pairings party begins at 6 p.m, and will include the pairing of golfers with NFL players for the tournament that will be held the following day. The tournament is a shamble format.

The public can attend the pairings party for the ticket price of $250. The public is also invited to attend the golf tournament as a spectator for the ticket price of $250 for a full day pass. Spectator and pairings party tickets can be purchased by e mailing msimon@tfhd.com.
