Gourmet Ski Tour | On-snow tasting event to benefit Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; Experience the exhilaration of gliding through the beautifully forested cross-country ski trails working up a hearty appetite, and then enjoy gourmet grazing right on the trail! Outdoor enthusiasts and foodies can ski or snowshoe from one food station to the next for what is always an epicurean, hedonistic and fun afternoon at the 11th Annual Gourmet Ski Tour, a fundraiser for the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association held at the Tahoe Cross Country Center on Sunday, March 11 starting at 1 p.m. Dress in your favorite dance costume. This yearand#8217;s theme is and#8220;snow danceand#8221; with such costume suggestions as disco, hip hop, ballet, etc. Winner of the costume contest wins a Tahoe XC ski season pass.
For the past 10 years Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area has produced the most exciting on-snow gourmet-tasting event, a chance for people to sample some of the Nordic centerand#8217;s gentlest trails while enjoying delectable food and beverage from North Tahoeand#8217;s finest restaurants.
Beginners can rent skis or snowshoes at the Tahoe Cross Country Center and move around at their leisure tasting seafood, soup, breads and hors dand#8217;oeuvres. Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in pastries and cookies. The day ends with a margarita and live music at the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association Winter Discovery Center Yurt and live music by and#8220;The Drunken Neighborsand#8221; from 2:30-5 p.m.
Yummy sustenance and beverages will be provided by Sugar Pine Cakery, Truckee River Winery, Tahoma Meadows Cottages, Tahoe House, Christy Hill, Wolfdaleand#8217;s, Sunnyside, Lanzaand#8217;s, Mamasake, Jakeand#8217;s on the Lake, Brockway Bakery, Bridgetender, Ron Allen Personal Chef, North Shore Hawaiian Grill, Men Wielding Fire and New York City Hot Dogs. Tickets are $32 for adults (includes a free half day trail pass), $27 for juniors ages 13-17. Children 12 and under can feast on complimentary hot dogs.
