Incline Village General Improvement District Parks andamp; Recreation offers Leader in Training Education

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif andamp;#8212; The IVGID Parks andamp; Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, hard-working teens ages 13 through 16 for the Leader in Training Education Program (LITE). LITEs will be trained and work for one full week at summer Camp Xtreme (about 35 hours). They will be in charge of designing and leading one-two hours of activities each day for their assigned week and will have the opportunity to go on an out-of-town field trip.Members of the program will receive:andamp;#8226; Community service hoursandamp;#8226; Resume-building real world work experienceandamp;#8226; Leadership skills andamp;#8226; Camp t-shirtSelected applicants must participate in a mandatory one-day training program (June 18, 1-5 p.m.) and will be paired with experienced Recreation Leaders for a one-week period. There are nine possible weeks of the summer program which LITEs can work and successful applicants can work more than one week with no additional fee, if desired. Participants will be evaluated at the end of each week.
