Letter to the Editor: Protect Tahoe Vista
November 6, 2008
As residents of Tahoe Vista we are very concerned about the amount, scope and nature of the projects in our community.
One must assume that one of the main reasons we all live up here is because of the beautiful environment where trees are appreciated and quaint is a good thing. This project, as proposed, is way too dense, with the majority of the trees cut down.
With 191 trees already cut down, further logging should not be approved. I am not against development, but the TRPA should downsize this project to an acceptable scale and work with the environment and the community. Raping the land is not the way to develop this beautiful community.
With the numerous projects that are slated for our small community, their overall combined impact must be considered instead of looking at them individually.
