Obituary: Seaborg, Nanci Margaret Stalker

Nanci Seaborg passed away Aug. 25 after heroically battling cancer for over a year. She was 46.Nanci was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her death.Born Nov. 11,1956 in Royal Oak, Mich., Nanci lived in Birmingham for six years. She moved to Lafayette, Calif. in 1963, and graduated from Del Valle High School in Lafayette in 1975. Nanci continued her education at Truckee Meadows Community College where she received her AA degree.She was working toward her elementary School Teaching certificate, which was a lifelong goal.Nanci was a pre-school teacher for the Truckee-Donner Recreational & Parks District for at least the past 14 years.She was a recreational leader for Camp Radical during the summers for several years. She will be remembered for having New Year’s Eve parties at the recreation department and Friday Night Movies at Glenshire Clubhouse so parents could enjoy their evenings, knowing their children were well cared for.Nanci had an exceptional ability to connect with children of all ages, and had high moral standards to which she held both children and their parents accountable for their actions. Nanci was a lover of the outdoors and until the last several weeks, pursued her enjoyment of kayaking and hiking.Nanci is survived by her children, Todd and Dana Seaborg of Truckee, Nicki Seaborg of Reno; her life partner, fianc Jake Hudson of Truckee; parents, Margaret and James Stalker of Danville, Calif.; brother Jim of Pleasanton; sisters Barbara of Antioch, Calif. and Kathy of Alamo, Calif.; her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Paul Mclain of Bullhead, Ariz., and her nieces Erin and Jennifer.Nanci is also survived by her many friends, too numerous to mention, that she loved and who loved her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten by all who were blessed by knowing her.A celebration of Nanci’s life will be held at the “Salty” Gebhardt Amphitheater-Truckee River Regional Park Saturday Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.Memorial Contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1765 Challenge Way, STE 115, Sacramento, CA.95815-5000 or Tahoe Forest Hospice, P.O.
