Opinion: IVGID not as efficient and effective as you may think
September 16, 2015
As most residents know, the Washoe County Commission held an Open Meeting on August 25th to discuss what was going on at IVGID and other Nevada general improvement districts. Both the IVGID Board of Trustees and Senior Management were invited to attend.
Only Trustees Smith and Callicrate chose to do so. There were several speakers and many written statements submitted.
In particular, Aaron Katz submitted a 100-plus page statement, half of it commentary and half support documentation substantiating the assertions, charges and recommendations that he made.
It was a very detailed statement, containing many facts and figures. But the contented ones, the always-available IVGID cheerleaders continue to rail that Aaron does not know what he is talking about and has little evidence of the accusations he makes.
I suggest those who think IVGID is an efficient and effective operation read Aaron's written statement, and refute with facts and figures that he contends has been going on at IVGID for many, many years.
Even our newly appointed chairperson, Kendra Wong, thinks IVGID does wonders because that is what her friends and neighbors tell her.

I suggest people who think like Ms. Wong to do their homework, just like Aaron has already done. Facts and figures really do matter.
