Orbital Laboratory give wings to Tahoe Donner website
March 21, 2012
TAHOE DONNER, Calif. and#8212; The new http://www.tahoedonner.com was just released by the Truckee-based agency Orbital Laboratory. Thirty-year-old Tahoe Donner is one of the largest homeowners associations in the country, with nearly 5,800 properties and 25,000 members spread out over 7,000 acres. The goal of Tahoe Donnerand#8217;s new website was to streamline massive amounts of content into a single user-friendly experience and#8212; reinventing the perception of their online brand.
and#8220;During initial meetings, Tahoe Donner expressed interest in moving into the content focused online community. They already produce large amounts of content for a print magazine on a monthly basis and did not want to see relevant and timeless articles go to rest after a short 30-day life in print,and#8221; said Matt Chappell, lead designer.
and#8220;First and foremost, Tahoe Donner needed a content management system for the website enabling an in-house marketing team to wrangle all of the pages of documents and content articles along with keeping the site current. But the features list continues complete with a magazine-style blog, an integrated online store, weather feeds, live chat, dynamic calendar, email subscription and a detailed members section,and#8221; said Nick Schaffner, Lead Developer
and#8220;The website required a visual update aimed at positioning Tahoe Donner as a vibrant, mountain community. The layout and usability was designed to accommodate users from ages 8 to 108. Itand#8217;s easy to use, and#8216;familiarand#8217; some say, yet its punchy color scheme jumps out at you while you navigate to information in less than three clicks,and#8221; continued Chappell.
Truckee-based Orbital Laboratory was hired to create http://www.tahoedonner.com. Orbital Laboratory specializes in creating authentic visual communication platforms for large and small businesses. When you work at OLAB, you inject projects with color, life and on-brand style. The end result is an industry leading difference built within Truckeeand#8217;s oldest building and#8212; Grayand#8217;s Cabin.
