Pat Edwards exhibit with artistand#8217;s reception at North Tahoe Event Center

KINGS BEACH, Calif. and#8212; The art of long time local artist, Pat Edwards, comes to the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 N. Lake Blvd., Kings Beach, Oct. 5 through Jan. 4. Meet the artist at a reception Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 5:30 and#8211; 7:30 p.m. Edwardsand#8217; current exhibit is an array of landscapes scenes, people of Tahoe in different moods with a mix of pastels, acrylics, photos and mixed media.
Edwards has lived in North Lake Tahoe since she was 9 years old. She has taken many awards although she has had no formal art training. During the last 50 years Edwardsand#8217; art has been shown throughout the Tahoe/Truckee region as well as Graeagle, Reno and Loyalton. She works in oils, pastels, acrylics, mixed media and china painting and is also a ceramicist. Currently her focus is painting in different mediums, including plein air painting in changing lights and weather.
Since early childhood she has loved expression through art, feeling that art is a way people can be healed from emotional trauma in their lives. and#8220;Art and painting is like an internal re-firing of the soul. Wonderful clean feelings of joy wash through me while creating the paintings,and#8221; said Edwards. and#8220;Itand#8217;s special for humans to be able to walk in our gifts and we need to continually be pressing on to increase and perfect them.and#8221;
She also finds great joy in sharing art through teaching and helping others come forth in their own unique styles. In addition to once having her own ceramics, Edwards has also taught painting and doll-making.
The public is invited to visit the North Tahoe Event Center during normal business hours to view the art on display at no charge. Exhibits will be rotated approximately every three months. The North Tahoe Event Center has partnered with North Tahoe Arts and the Art in Public Places program to provide rotating art exhibits available to the public. The Center hopes to provide an inviting atmosphere through the showing of artwork with a connection to the North Tahoe Community, either through the artist or content of the work.
The North Tahoe Public Utility District provides sewer and water service to the residents of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay, Cedar Flat and Agate Bay. The District owns, manages and maintains the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. This facility offers flexible options for gatherings large and small and indoors and out. Four of eight meeting rooms offer dramatic views of Lake Tahoe.
