TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212;-Local designer Claudia Zischke created these one-of-a-kind pink purses as donations to be auctioned off at the 7th annual Truckee Pink Party tonight – a fundraiser benefiting local cancer patients. The bags are made from recycled Sierra Pacific Coffee Co. coffee bean bags with fun accent fabrics. For more information on Simple Love bags, e-mail claudiazischke@yahoo.com.br.

The seventh annual Truckee Pink Party Fundraiser, coined “The Best Pre-Halloween Costume Party” in town is hosted by Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation to raise money for local breast cancer patients. Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at Bar of America, Pacific Crest in Downtown Truckee.

Over the years a major highlight of the Truckee Pink Party is the outrageously wild pink costumes guests sport in honor of their support for local breast cancer patients and programs. Prizes are given to the best male and female contestants, assuming judges can tell them apart, at the costume contest.

Tickets for the Pink Party cost $25 per person in advance and $35 at the door. Cost includes one free drink (beer or wine), light appetizers and live music by Truckee’s own Emily Tessmer Band that’s ready to get the crowd dancing and partying for a great cause. VIP tables are available at $400 for a table of four; $600 for a table of six and include a bottle of champagne, VIP goodie bags and one drink ticket for each guest. The evening also includes live and silent auctions. To purchase tickets or a VIP table, call 530-582-6271 or visit http://www.truckeepinkparty.com.
