What certificates and degrees are offered without leaving the Tahoe-Truckee campus?

Certificates are offered in accounting and early childhood education and Sierra College, Tahoe Truckee offers associate degrees in arts and culture, business, human development, natural science and psychology. Dozens more certificates and degrees are offered with a combination of courses on the Sierra College, Tahoe-Truckee campus and online classes or those offered at Sierra College campuses in Rocklin and Grass Valley.

In addition, people training for EMT certification and jobs in accounting, administration of justice, art and design, Mechatronics, business, computer systems and early childhood careers can find an array of college classes on the Tahoe-Truckee campus.

Does Sierra College, Tahoe-Truckee have student clubs?

Yes! Students participate in the following clubs: Art, Associated Students of Sierra College, Business, Disk Golf, Environmental, Latino and Outdoor Adventure. Faculty advisors and student leaders spearhead campus activities including guest speakers, movies on campus, an annual spring art fair, career insights and more. Students passionate about a subject area not covered with the existing clubs are encouraged to start their own.

What is tuition?

Sierra College courses are $46 per unit for California residents and discounted to just one dollar a unit for current TTUSD high school students. There is a $20 parking fee per semester as well as the cost of books and material. Scholarships are available.

Whatand#8217;s new on campus?

A lot is happening at Sierra College.

Students can earn the new PSYC-T degree that guarantees psychology majors who meet the requirements transfer to Cal State.

The new Sierra College Insights program offers interactive and interesting presentations on a monthly basis for community members. Take a walk in the woods with Will Richardson, Ph.D. at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7, get artsy with Melanie Frakes, ceramics instructor at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 and learn circuit basics while making your own LED flashlight with Claudio Bravo at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9. Space is limited for all the fall Sierra College insights. RSVP by calling 530-550-2290 sooner rather than later to secure a spot.

The Tahoe-Truckee has an excellent resource center complete with quiet study space, computers, online journals and databases as well as a great magazine selection and free, quality tutoring for all enrolled students.
